The Department focuses on the necessary administrative and logistical support services, human management and development, financial management and public relations services.

The Department is comprised of the following sections and units:

• Administration and Transport Maintenance Section;
• Human Resources Management Unit;
• Human Resources Development Unit;
• Registry Services Unit;
• Public Relations Unit;
• Accounts Unit;
• Internal Audit Unit; and
• Procurement and Supplies Unit

The Department is headed by the Director - Human Resources and Administration who also coordinates the activities of the Zambia Forestry College (ZFC) in Kitwe, Zambia.
